Turn Your Tax Liability into Opportunity
AOSF helps fund the education of low-income students across the state, but we can't do it without your help.
Your donation changes lives. You can make a difference for the hundreds of students who are hoping for an opportunity for a better education. All it takes is a redirection of your state taxes to create a brighter future. You already pay state taxes—why not make them count?

List of Services
-
1. Estimate Your DonationList Item 1
Before you donate, it's important to estimate your tax liability. You can donate a portion or even 100% of your state tax liability! Individuals can donate 100% of their Alabama income tax liability up to $100,000. Meanwhile, C corporations, S corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and pass-through entities can redirect 100% of their income tax liability.
-
2. Reserve Your Tax CreditsList Item 2
Report your donation to the state through your My Alabama Taxes account.
Reservations last 30 days, so we will need to receive your check within that time frame to confirm your credit with the Department of Revenue.
-
3. Make Your DonationList Item 3
After making your reservation on MAT, AOSF must receive your payment within 30 days. If we have not received your donation within that timeframe, you will need to make another reservation. To make your donation, you can pay online via ACH or mail a check to the address below:

4. Get Your State Tax CreditList Item 4
Once AOSF receives your payment, your donation will be verified with the state. This will automatically generate a receipt to your "Correspondence" folder in your My Alabama Taxes account. AOSF will email you a receipt for federal tax purposes.
Did You Know?
You Can Donate Quarterly to AOSF
As long as you make your payment to AOSF in the same time and manner as you would the state, you will not be penalized. On August 3rd, the ADOR issued Revenue Procedure 2017-01 to ensure penalties do not occur.
For example, if you estimate four payments of $10,000 per quarter, you can potentially donate the entire $10,000 each quarter in support of our students.*

Family Testimonials
I would like to thank the donors profusely. Without their support, my child would not have had this opportunity. I appreciate that they are genuinely changing lives.
Kiara Smith, Parent
It's an amazing thing! It's amazing and great feeling to be able to do that for families that are in a financial bind.
Carmisha Sylvester, Parent
I hope that in the future there can be more funds for other students to get this opportunity as well because there are so many parents who could use the help.
