More Than a Diploma: How Chambers Academy Seniors Are Preparing for What’s Next

May 4, 2026

At Chambers Academy, senior year isn’t just about finishing strong, it’s about stepping forward with purpose.

This year’s graduating class reflects what makes the school unique: a close-knit community, high expectations, and students who are not only college-bound, but grounded in who they are and where they’re going.

In a new video spotlight, seniors share their plans for the future and thank donors for helping them achieve this milestone.

At Chambers, structure and flexibility go hand in hand. The school’s block schedule—with 90-minute classes and semester-based core rotations—allows students to dive deeper into subjects while also making room for electives and extracurriculars. For many, that means balancing academics with athletics, leadership, and service without feeling stretched too thin.

But what stands out most isn’t the schedule, it’s the relationships.

As Headmaster Jon Owens puts it, the strength of Chambers Academy lies in its ability to feel like family. Students don’t just pass through classrooms—they build lasting connections with teachers and peers over time. It’s not uncommon for students to have the same teachers more than once, creating a level of mentorship that extends far beyond academics.

That sense of connection shows up clearly in the senior class.

Students describe a school culture where consistency matters, where expectations are clear, and where community is more than just a buzzword. Whether it’s supporting a classmate after a tough test, serving families beyond their immediate community, or simply knowing they belong, these seniors carry values that go with them long after graduation.

Every member of this year’s senior class is college-bound, a reflection of both their hard work and the intentional support around them.

Programs like the Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund, along with initiatives like the CHOOSE Act  have played a key role in expanding access. For many families, these opportunities make a Chambers Academy education possible, opening doors that may have otherwise remained closed.

And the impact is clear.

Students who benefit from scholarships often describe a deeper sense of responsibility and motivation. They know the opportunity they’ve been given—and they rise to meet it.

As Chambers Academy continues to grow, its mission remains steady: provide a quality education in a setting where students are known, supported, and challenged.

Because at the end of the day, success here isn’t just measured by where students go next—it’s measured by who they become along the way.

There’s a lingering misconception that private or Catholic schools aren’t equipped to serve students with disabilities. In Auburn, Alabama, one Catholic school is quietly proving otherwise. As an AOSF partner school and the only Catholic school within a 50-mile radius, St. Michaels Catholic School is offering families something increasingly rare: strong academics, intentional faith formation, and a learning environment that welcomes students with a range of learning needs, including dyslexia, hearing impairments, and vision challenges. And they’re not just “making it work.” They’re building a model designed for it.
